Frequently Asked Questions

 1.  Who do I contact if I have a question about a payment?

bullet

Please contact our billing office at 314-991-8200 or toll free at 800-449-6145.

 2.  Can I get a price quote before undergoing a procedure if I do not have insurance?

bullet

Yes. Please call the billing office at 314-991-8200 or toll free at 800-449-6145. If possible, ask your referring

bullet

physician for the code of the radiological procedure that has been requested. If you are unable to obtain the

bullet

procedure code, get as much information on the procedure as possible so we can give you accurate information.

 3.  Who is ultimately responsible for the bill?

bullet

We will bill your insurance provider if you provide our office with the correct information. However, if your insurance

bullet

provider does not pay your bill, you will be responsible for contacting them to ensure payment of your account.

bullet

Ultimately, you - the patient - are responsible for the bill. We get your information directly from the hospital when

bullet

you register, but there are times that the information sent to us is incorrect and it is your responsibility to make

bullet

sure that we have the most up to date information to get your bill paid.

 4.  How often will I be mailed a statement?

bullet

If you have insurance, you will be mailed a statement after the insurance has sent us a remittance advice telling us

bullet

how much they have paid and adjusted your bill. Then you will receive a statement every 30-45 days. We send

bullet

delinquent accounts to collections on a regular basis after 90-120 days.

 5.  After how much time should I contact my insurance plan if no payment has been made/

bullet

Usually if your insurance company has not processed your bill within 45-60 days, we recommend that you get in

bullet

touch with your provider to determine the status of your account.

 6.  Why will I receive two bills for my procedure?

bullet

Radiology procedure charges are billed in two parts: the hospital and the physician who interprets the examination.

bullet

The radiologist directs and supervises your examination, interprets the results and consults with your personal

bullet

physician. You may have met the radiologist personally during the exam, but even if you did not, he or she will be

bullet

studying your examination and sending reports to your personal physician. The bill is your responsibility. Any

bullet

insurance is between the patient and the insurance carrier. The hospital portion of the bill covers the technicians,

bullet

equipment and supplies involved in performing the procedure.
