West County Radiology Group strives to be the leader in providing appropriate, high quality, cost effective diagnostic imaging services which meet the needs and expectations of our patients and referring physicians. We do this by developing and maintaining current proven technology; providing attractive and accessible facilities; hiring committed qualified staff; and working in a collaborative environment.
About West County Radiological Group
West County Radiological Group, Inc. was incorporated in 1969. It was led at that time by Dr. Thomas Maher, MD and the group provided exclusive radiological services to St. John's Mercy Medical Center in the West County section of Saint Louis, Missouri. Hence, the name. Over the years, as technology and the medicine of radiological sciences grew, so did the group. During that time we have incorporated other specialties, related to radiological sciences, into the group. Therefore, West County Radiological Group is a diverse mix of diagnostic radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians, medical physicists and dosimetrists. In 2006, the management team brought the billing operation for the practice in-house, hiring over 30 administrative staff to date, including an internal medicine physician to assist with insurance appeals and human resource management functions. Currently, we have 35 physicians, a staff of 12 medical physicists and dosimetrists, 3 administrative managers, and 31 administrative billing staff. We are very grateful to be able to serve the patients and referring physicians at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, St. John's Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri, the Mercy imaging centers across the region, and Mid-County Orthopedics in Creve Coeur.
What Makes Us Special:
West County Radiological Group, Inc. is the largest private practice radiology group in the State of Missouri. Not only that, we have more fellowship-trained subspecialists than any other institution in the area, with exception to one large teaching hospital near the City of St. Louis. All of our physicians are board-certified. Some of our physicians have served and are currently serving in executive roles in state and local medical organizations in an effort to preserve the quality of healthcare.

Because we are hospital-based, West County Radiology Group may not always be able to schedule you for same-day exams and you may not be able to park right outside the door, but we will offer you the highest level of expertise in diagnosing and treating you and your family that you can find in the area. We work with our hospitals to ensure that we have all of the equipment we need to provide proper diagnoses and treatments. Some of the newest technology at our hospitals includes 64-slice CT scanning, stereotactic radiosurgery, 3D breast ultrasound, and breast MRI capabilities. Over the summer, the hospital will be installing a 3T MRI and will open a state-of-the-art childrens' hospital. We are very fortunate to work with an organization that cares about the community as much as we do, and is willing to provide the funding for equipment that allows us to provide quality treatment for our patients.
